Torquay and the surrounding area

The Cimon is just a 5 minute walk from Torquay's main beach at Abbey Sands, and a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Torquay's picturesque harbour is less than a 10 minute walk away, with a wide variety of restaurants, bars and clubs.

Many of the most popular tourist attractions in Torquay are also within easy walking distance, including Torre Abbey, the Princess Theatre, Torquay Museum and the Living Coast. Babbacombe is just a couple of miles further, with attractions like the Model Village, Bygones and the Cliff Railway. Further around the bay are Paignton with its long sandy beaches and zoo, the quiet fishing port of Brixham, famous for its shellfish and replica of The Golden Hind, and the quaint village of Cockington with its thatched roofs and craft centre.

For those wishing to explore a little further afield there are the towns of Totnes, Dartmouth and Newton Abbot, not the mention Dartmoor National Park.

Torquay is well serviced by public transport, with the main train station a 15 minute walk along the seafront. The number 12 bus service runs past the guest house all the way to Paignton, Brixham and Newton Abbot. There are a fantastic range of boat trips available from Torquay harbour. Torquay also has plenty of taxis, with a cab ride to the harbour costing less than £5.
