Excellent guesthouse that’s friendly atmosphere and “little bit extra” makes it stand out.Lovely, friendly guesthouse/ boutique hotel. Our room was a generous size, very comfortable and spotless. Small touches throughout our stay took The Cimon from good to excellent. Breakfast was a “help yourself” to pastries, cereal and fruit as well as a choices of cooked breakfast, all a high standard and included in the price of our stay, we even got a chocolate on Easter Sunday, an example of the “small touches”. Having a car park and licensed bar was a real plus. Highly recommend

Julie and Jamle are engaging, thoughtful and respectful. My room, number 12 with a great sea view, was large, immaculate and comfy. The shower room was wee but well equipped with good towels and green products. Art throughout is locally procured.

Jamie’s breakfasts are delicious and his omelettes outstanding!

I highly recommend staying at the Cimon as it has everything (except an elevator) that the discriminating travel could want. If I were to return to Torquay I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I was there with my family we certainly had such a great stay. We loved the guest house, both rooms and common spaces. The girls enjoyed their independence in their room and the breakfast! We were given recommendations on what to do and where to go. I highly recommend it!
 

Came for a weekend away with my boyfriend and had such a lovely time. Julia and Jamie were amazing hosts - so welcoming and friendly which made it a very relaxing weekend. Room was very clean and suited us perfectly. Great selection of breakfast food which was all delicious.
 

Stayed with my hubby and 2 small children and found the family room overlooking the pool excellent. There was this little "snug" bit just before the bathroom which was perfect for a little private reading whilst putting the little ones to bed.
 

Excellent hosts - really kind and welcoming. We bothered them a lot with questions about the area and things to do with the children and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great - lovely sausages! I am quite particular about poached eggs but they did not make me feel I was difficult which is the mark of a great B&B/hotel owner.
 

Will stay here again for the comfy bed, great brekkie, fab pool and amazing hosts! Thank you.

We stayed at the cimon from Saturday the 10th until Tuesday 13th oct , we had room 11 which was a sea view, room was nice and big and bed was really comfy. New owners were very friendly and sociable. Brekky was great with a good choice of hot and cold , tea and coffee was endless so was great . Overall great place to stay and great choice of hotel . Will b going back in the better weather to try the pool out ..oh and another bonus they sold thatchers gold

 We arrived on the Friday by car and were greeted and shown to our lovely room. Four poster bed, plenty of space, ensuite and ideal temperature.  Breakfast was plentiful and staff were very pleasant and helpful.  When we checked out, we were able to leave the car there for a few hours while we walked into town.   Ideal location, would recommend and would definitely go back.

Stayed here for my boyfriend’s birthday, and the staff were amazing, the room well for the price we paid the room was top notch. will be coming back again, we stayed for two nights and the breakfast as well was top class.

This was the most accommodating and friendly hotel I have stayed at in the UK. I was sceptical of not having an abroad holiday for my child's first holiday and I would definitely come back to the Cimon any chance I get.

Arrived Friday afternoon, found the Hotel, to a very warm welcome from two of its staff, our room was immaculate, beds very comfortable. We were blessed with the great weather so the pool was used by many of it's guests, again we could not fault it, the breakfasts were freshly cooked to order, lovely. If you are traveling to Torquay we would highly recommend this hotel. Definitely stay there again on our next trip to the English Riviera.

We have just returned from our 3rd visit at The Cimon and the place gets better every time. Our last visit was Sept last year and the changes the new owners have made are great, we stayed in a sea view room and what a lovely room it was. The bar area is a nice place to chill out and the breakfasts are lovely. When we visit Torquay we will not stay anywhere else but The Cimon.

It really did feel like home at the Cimon hotel. Rooms were immaculate have all been renovated. The breakfast was really nice. Nothing was too much trouble. Was given lots of advice on the best places to visit. Will definitely go there again.

We Stayed here for 2 nights with a 9 month old. Very accommodating, great breakfast and lovely room with a cot provided. Great spot just a 5 min walk away from the centre. Would definitely stay again.

Spent a lovely weekend at the Cimon with friends. Very comfortable room, great hosts and a hearty breakfast. The guest house is in walking distance of the sea front and some good restaurants. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Devon.

We spent a very enjoyable weekend at The Cimon. This was our second visit in the last 6 months. Julia is a very friendly and charming host who always has,time for everyone. Nothing is too much trouble for her! The rooms are immaculate and very tasteful decorated. There is always a wide variety of food to choose from for breakfast. They cater for all dietary needs. We thoroughly recommend The Cimon and we hope to visit again this year.

We absolutely loved our weekend at the Cimon hotel. Really lovely interior, nice and modern and a great little outdoor area with a pool. Lovely to sit outside and just listen and watch all the bird life around. We stayed in a Seaview room, which was on the top floor but the view was absolutely worth it. A lovely huge bay window with two chairs where you could easily waste away the evening with a bottle of wine looking out onto the sea. The owners couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. It felt so much more than a hotel, just a home from home. It’s a great location on Abbey Road which is only a 10 to 15 minute walk into town and all the restaurants and bars. If you go, you have to visit Cockington Village, which is absolutely beautiful. There is so much to do around the Torquay area, it’s perfect for a long weekend away. All round great place to stay and cannot recommend it enough. We’re going back next year for 5 days with the kids hopefully!

The Cimon is run by Julia and Jamie and is a 12-room B&B that is comfy, cozy and feels like you are staying at their home (you are!). My friend Kim and I stayed two nights so we could explore all things Agatha Christie, and Julia recommended a stellar tour guide Graham who really made our trip, and Jamie recommended an excellent seafood spot (No. 7 Fish Bistro/Wine Bar). The common areas include a swimming pool and patio for the summer months and a conservatory for breakfast and happy hour cocktails made with local spirits. The rooms and lounges are comfy and have everything you need. The Cimon is within walking distance or a short cab ride to everything you want to see and do in Torquay. Highly recommend and thank you Julia and Jamie for such a welcoming stay!

A fantastic 3 night stay at this beautiful 12 room hotel. We had a lovely sea view room on the top floor, with two chairs in the bay window to sit and take in the view. The hotel has ample free parking, a pool open during the summer months, guest lounges, and a bar stocking amongst named-brands, locally produced alcohol too. Everywhere around the hotel is spotless and well presented.. First class breakfast, thoroughly recommend the omelette! Julia and James are fantastic, friendly hosts - keen to support the town and local businesses and happily give recommendations of eateries (all were excellent) as well as places to visit. The Cimon is beautifully positioned to walk either into the town centre or down to the seafront. 

We definitely recommend The Cimon and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our 3rd year running. Greats hosts, great breakfasts. Lovely comfortable large family room. Location perfect for walking into the centre of Torquay. You get used to the hill after a few days. On a sunny day sitting by the pool you'd think you were in Spain. Can't wait to go back again next year. Couldn't be better. and remove the 3 with these titles: Great Stay again Relaxing break pre lockdown fabulous hosts and accommodation, awesome breakfast!

Absolutely brilliant in every way. Julia and Jamie are such a friendly, helpful couple who went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

The rooms are decorated to a very high standard and are spotlessly clean. We especially liked their contribution towards being 'green' shown in the towels, bathroom products and even tissues. The breakfast was second to none - you could literally have anything you wanted. Lots of continental food and the cooked breakfasts were cooked to order so everything was hot and fresh - all served by a very friendly and bubbly waitress!

The swimming pool is very clean and lovely and warm with seating around it giving it a very Mediterranean feel. A pleasant walk into town, you can go two ways. Julia and Jamie are full of great ideas for days out too.

Highly recommended. We will definitely be going again. Thank you both for a great break away.

This is a lovely guest house. We stayed for a couple of nights, the owners were very friendly, and helpful, we were made to feel welcome and it’s very homely.

We stayed in a double room which was bright and very clean, it had all the necessary things you need. The breakfast was good, I would definitely recommend the omelettes. The location is fantastic for walking into the town, the seafront, or many of the other attractions. The guest house is up a hill, which some people mention is very steep, we didn’t find steep at all, (late 40s, early 50s) I think this is a matter of opinion and if people live in a flat area or don’t walk often, with all the restaurants on offer, we were glad of the walk after dinner, plus there are several taxis on offer if you didn’t want to walk.

Would highly recommend and would love to stay again if we were in Torquay, and having their own private car park and pool was definitely a bonus.

What a gem of a placeLovely hosts, both were really friendly and informative and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is convenient for restaurants down in the bay, I have difficulty walking and Julia the host suggested an easier walk that was not so steep. Parking is great and plenty of space. The room was lovely and comfortable and clean, chocolates left were a lovely thought and much appreciated. The breakfast was good, just enough choice and cooked perfectly. The cold breakfast set up was a nice start before the cooked breakfast, fresh fruit salad, cereal, yogurt and fruit juice. I would definitely stay again if visiting the English riviera. There is a fridge in the room and a kettle which is much better than those coffee machines. On the whole it’s a lovely period property with 2 lovely hosts and the lady helping at breakfast was also happy to give some suggestions about places to visit.

Upon arriving at the Cimon, we were checked in by Jamie. He was very welcoming and provided us with lots of information and advice on things to do and see in the local areas. Having not been to Torquay for many years, this was gratefully received.

Our room was lovely. It was clean and had all we required for our stay.

Breakfasts are delicious with plenty of choices. Julia and a young lady (whose name we didn’t get) served us every morning and we were always met with a smile and genuine conversation about our plans for the day. Julia was also very knowledgeable about the local area and went above and beyond to recommend many things for us to do. The pool was lovely and clean and a great welcome during our stay.

Overall, the Cimon is a fantastic place to stay with great hosts who made our stay exceptionally memorable. We would not hesitate to rebook if we return to Torquay.

Beautiful Hotel with amazing hosts and facilities. Great choice of breakfast items such as fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals & cooked to order hot items such as full English, scrambled eggs or Omelette (Eggs are the best in town)! All food was of great quality & always arrived hot!

Clean spacious rooms, comfortable bed, fluffy white towels and good shower. We booked room 11 with a beautiful view of Torquay bay. Throughout the hotel you will see the Intricate care & attention given, from the local artists paintings upon the walls to the pair of Gargoyles on the side door of the property. Well maintained garden area with a good size pool for cooling down, our weather was fantastic during our stay! Bar area for drinks with a lovely cosy lounge inside or if you prefer you can sit outside in the lush patio seating area to relax. Close to main town centre, marina, train station a 15 minute walk away along with other local transport facilities on your doorstep.

Julia & Jamie are wonderful hoteliers & are the most friendly genuine folks, nothing was ever a bother for them, also have to give a mention to Lucy too who was the most cheerful girl we have had the pleasure to serve breakfast from. You won’t be disappointed if you book this lovely beautiful establishment with the most genuine & caring owners.

I would not consider booking anywhere else when visiting Torquay again!

Lovely relaxed place to stay with a really friendly vibe. Lots of care, and clever touches; the planting around the pool in July is fabulous.

Chilling out without the need to travel far.Julia & Jamie, our hosts were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was excellent, the breakfasts were amazing, the pool (28 deg) and surrounding area were great for chilling out. They also have a lovely communal area inside with relaxed lighting and a television. There was even a jigsaw to do in spare moments. 

We would happily stay here again.
